Short description

Vivarium is a five-minute music film built around the performer Ado, who appears as herself. The short serves as a companion piece to a book about her titled "Vivarium: Ado and I", pairing its music with the performer at its centre. Ado wrote the screenplay as well as appearing on screen, so the short reflects her own conception of the project rather than an outside interpretation of it.

The film was directed by Kyotaro Hayashi and produced by Universal Music Japan and Universal Music Group. It was released on 28 February 2026 and runs only a few minutes, a length suited to a music-driven piece tied to a publication rather than to a narrative feature.

With no ratings or audience scores recorded for the short on IMDb or TMDB, its reception rests on its function as an accompaniment to the book and on the involvement of Ado herself. It stands as a brief, music-led release from a performer whose work is primarily musical.
