Jimmy Cuervo, an ex-convict, and his girlfriend Lilly are murdered as part of a ritual carried out by a gang of Satanist bikers. Their leader, Luc Crash, intends the killing to grant him demonic immortality. Rather than staying dead, Jimmy is brought back by the power of the Crow, an avenger from Native American legend, and sets out to punish those responsible and stop the ritual from being completed.
The film was directed by Lance Mungia, who wrote the screenplay with Sean Hood and Jeff Most, and it was produced by Edward R. Pressman and Jeff Most for Pressman Film, Dimension Films, Jeff Most Productions and Image Comics. It is the fourth entry in the series of films based on the Crow comics. Edward Furlong plays Jimmy and the Crow, with David Boreanaz as Luc Crash, Tara Reid as Lola Byrne, Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lilly, Dennis Hopper as El Niño and Marcus Chong as War. Twenty-seven cast members and sixty-six crew members are credited.
Made for a budget of eight million dollars, the film runs 99 minutes and mixes action, fantasy and horror. It fared poorly with viewers, holding a rating of 3 out of 10 on IMDb from more than nine thousand votes and 3.8 out of 10 on TMDB from a much smaller number of votes. A critics' rating of 2.1 out of 10, drawn from nine reviews, places it below even those audience scores.
