Following a tragedy, a mother and her daughter welcome the teenage boyfriend of the deceased girl into their home. The boy is widely blamed for the death, creating a tense dynamic defined by guilt and the search for forgiveness. To cope with their loss, the unlikely trio travels to Tenerife for a family vacation that was planned but never occurred. As they spend time under the sun, their current experiences begin to merge with memories of the past.
