What's left behind the scenes
- The film mentions a steamboat ticket to Bolivia, which is impossible since the film takes place in 1933, and Bolivia lost access to the Pacific Ocean back in 1883.
- During the filming of the scene where his character is hit in the face with a metal chair, Burt Reynolds (1936-2018) broke his jaw. The actor was put on a liquid diet and lost almost 31 pounds by the end of filming.
