What's left behind the scenes
- The actor playing the French teacher, Gérard Lemarcus, is the father of Thomas Lemarcus, who plays Noah. Gérard actually teaches French, and the film's director, Dagur Kári, once studied with him.
- The beach scene at the end of the film was shot in Cuba. The original ending showed Noah walking along the beach, but it was cut because the director wanted a more ambiguous ending.
