O'Slaughter Day

Just before Christmas, a veterinary officer discovers that a wild boar in his home village of Kiuma has tested positive for a disease. As he begins inspecting local farms to manage the outbreak, he visits Ants and Minna, a childless elderly couple who view their livestock as family. The visit coincides with a trip from Ants' city-dwelling nephews and their families, who intend to deliver gifts and leave quickly. The holiday reunion takes a turn when Ants informs his relatives that they must help him slaughter the pigs.
