What's left behind the scenes

  • Before filming began, Channing Tatum trained for five weeks with lead stuntman Mick Rogers and fight choreographer Mike Gunther. Former professional football player Brian White trained for a month, three hours a day, which allowed him to perform most of his own stunts.
  • The film takes place in four different areas of New York City: Queens, Flushing, Brighton Beach, and the vicinity of Wall Street. Each area has its own distinctive street fighting style and ethnic groups. To maximize authenticity and realism, the crew and actors regularly walked through them, noting various details and recruiting local residents as extras.
  • In 2006, Dito Montiel's first film, "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints," participated in and won an award at the Sundance Film Festival. Terrence Howard was then one of the jurors who awarded the director a special prize. Since then, the well-known actor has been open to participating in one of his future projects.
  • The penthouse on Wall Street used during filming belonged to one of Google's executives.
  • The character of Zulay Henao was originally named Tasha in the script. The director was so impressed with the actress's audition that he ultimately named the character after her.
  • The final scene of the film was shot over a week in very cold weather.
