Short description

Two identical twin sisters, separated at birth by their parents' divorce, are reunited years later at a summer camp, where they scheme to bring their parents back together. The girls, one of whom has been living with their mother and the other with their father, switch places after camp and go to work on their plan, the first objective being to scare off a gold-digger pursuing their father.

What's left behind the scenes

David Swift wanted to remove the scenes of the cake falling on the face of Ruth McDevitt's character from the film, but the producers convinced him not to, stating that it would be one of the funniest scenes in the film. They were right.
Susan Henning was a stunt double for Hayley Mills, but her name was not included in the credits due to contractual obligations. At a wrap party, Walt Disney gave her a small Donald Duck figurine for "best performance remaining off-screen".
During the filming of one scene, Brian Keith (1921-1997) broke a rib, but finished the scene.
