Captain America

An artist named Steve Rogers, the son of a scientist who worked on secret government projects, is targeted by spies and nearly killed while they hunt for his late father's research. A dose of an experimental serum saves his life during surgery and leaves him with extraordinary physical strength and reflexes. Recruited by a government agency to investigate his father's death and pursue those responsible, he is paired with Dr. Simon Mills, who helped administer the treatment, and given a gadget-laden motorcycle and an indestructible shield. Taking on the identity of Captain America, he sets out to stop the people threatening the country.

The film is a 1979 television production directed by Rod Holcomb, his first credited feature as director, made nearly a decade before the next titles listed in his filmography, Midnight Offerings and The Cartier Affair. Reb Brown stars in the title role, with Len Birman as Dr. Simon Mills, Heather Menzies as Dr. Wendy Day, Robin Mattson as Tina Hayden, Joseph Ruskin as Rudy Sandrini and Lance LeGault as Harley. Twenty-one performers receive cast credit.
