Short description
Wilhelm is a detached man who wishes to become a writer. To encourage him to experience life, his mother provides a ticket to Bonn. During his journey, he meets a mute teenage acrobat named Mignon and an older man who competed in the 1936 Olympics. As Wilhelm travels through Germany, he interacts with various people, including an actress and another young man, while struggling to find the words he seeks.
Directed by Wim Wenders, this drama is the second of 22 films in the director's career, following Alice in the Cities and preceding The American Friend. The screenplay was written by Peter Handke. The movie stars Rüdiger Vogler as Wilhelm, alongside Hans Christian Blech, Hanna Schygulla, Nastassja Kinski, Peter Kern, and Ivan Desny.
