The Iranian government sent a letter to the French embassy in Tehran requesting a ban on the film's screening, and also put pressure on organizers to remove the film from the Bangkok film festival program.
Lebanese authorities banned the film's distribution as "offensive to Iran and the Islamic world," but soon revoked the ban under pressure from outraged local intellectuals.
