Gus

The California Atoms are a professional football team struggling at the bottom of the rankings with little hope for improvement. Their fortunes change when their coach decides to promote the team mascot, a mule named Gus, to a full player. Because Gus can kick field goals from 100 yards, the team begins to win and climb the standings. This sudden success creates tension with their opponents and attracts thieves who attempt to kidnap the animal.
