Bronco Billy

Bronco Billy McCoy runs a travelling Wild West show, performing trick shooting and riding stunts with a small troupe that moves from town to town. Business is poor and the outfit barely gets by, so when the woman who normally serves as the target in his act walks out, he takes on a new assistant without knowing much about her. She turns out to be a wealthy heiress left stranded without money, belongings or papers, and she has no talent for the act. Her arrival unsettles the show and its owner in equal measure.

Clint Eastwood directed and stars as Bronco Billy, with Sondra Locke as Antoinette Lily. The cast also includes Geoffrey Lewis, Scatman Crothers, Bill McKinney and Sam Bottoms, among 38 credited performers. Dennis Hackin wrote the screenplay, and Neal H. Dobrofsky and Hackin produced. It was Eastwood's seventh film as director, following The Gauntlet and preceding Firefox.

Made for about 7 million dollars, the film took roughly 24 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.2 out of 10 from around 14,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.3 out of 10 from about 300 votes. A critics' rating of 6.6 out of 10 from 20 reviews places it somewhat above the audience scores.
