Truck Turner

Truck Turner works as a bounty hunter in Los Angeles, tracking down people who have skipped bail. He and his partner Jerry are hired to bring in Gator, a pimp. The job ends with Gator's death, which turns the city's underworld against Truck. The people who were close to Gator want revenge, and paid killers begin hunting Truck and Jerry. The film is set in the criminal world of 1970s Los Angeles and mixes action with drama.

The film was directed by Jonathan Kaplan and released in 1974. It was his second feature, following Night Call Nurses in 1972. Michael Allin and Oscar Williams wrote the screenplay, and Fred Weintraub and Paul M. Heller produced it for American International Pictures. Isaac Hayes, who also provided the music, plays Truck, with Yaphet Kotto as Blue, Alan Weeks as Jerry, Annazette Chase as Annie, Nichelle Nichols as Dorinda and Sam Laws as Nate. The credited cast runs to 46.
