Another You

Another You is a 1991 American comedy about George, a man who has spent three years in a psychiatric hospital and is now preparing to re-enter ordinary life. Eddie Dash, a con man, is assigned to keep him out of trouble once he is released. The arrangement takes a different turn when people around them begin to mistake George for a missing millionaire, and Eddie sees an opportunity in the resemblance. The two men set about turning the confusion to their advantage. Richard Pryor plays Eddie and Gene Wilder plays George, with Mercedes Ruehl, Stephen Lang, Vanessa Williams and Peter Michael Goetz in supporting roles.

The film was directed by Maurice Phillips from a screenplay by Ziggy Steinberg, who also produced it, and was released by TriStar Pictures. It was made for a budget of 17 million dollars and returned about 3 million dollars worldwide, a wide gap between its cost and its theatrical earnings.

On IMDb the film holds a rating of 5.3 out of 10 from roughly 4,700 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.5 out of 10 from a much smaller sample of 112 votes. A critics' rating of 2.9 out of 10 from 21 reviews places it well below the audience scores.
