Shaggy inherits the estate of his late Uncle Beaureguard, and he travels to the old Southern plantation with Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo to collect what was left to him. The inheritance includes a fortune in hidden jewels, but the mansion turns out to be haunted, and the visitors find themselves pursued through secret passages by a frightening apparition. To deal with the ghost, the trio calls on the Boo Brothers, a family of specters who work as ghost exterminators, though their efforts are notably clumsy.
The film is a Hanna-Barbera animated television movie directed by Ray Patterson, Paul Sommer and Carl Urbano, written by Jim Ryan and produced by Kay Wright. Patterson's credits in the facts place it between Scooby Goes Hollywood and two later Hanna-Barbera crossover features, while Sommer's directing work reaches back to the 1940s. Don Messick voices both Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo, with Casey Kasem as Shaggy and Sorrell Booke among the supporting cast.
It runs 93 minutes and mixes comedy, family and mystery elements. Audience reactions are positive: on IMDb it holds a 6.9 rating from roughly 5,800 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 7.3 from about 273 votes.
