What's left behind the scenes
- J.K. Rowling wrote the book 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' in 2001 and spent almost all of the royalties on charity. Over 80% of the cost of each book sold went to children in need around the world.
- Filming for some episodes took place in October 2015 in the premises of St. George's Hall in Liverpool.
- Matt Smith and Nicholas Hoult were considered for the role of Newt, but Eddie Redmayne was approved.
- J.K. Rowling confirmed that Tina is a shortened form of Porpentina.
- Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Fanning, Kristen Stewart, and Lily Simmons were considered for the role of Queenie, but actress and singer Alison Sudol was ultimately cast.
- Before Katherine Waterston was cast as Tina, Kate Upton and Elizabeth Debicki were considered for the role.
- Michael Cera and Josh Gad were considered for the role of Jacob, but Dan Fogler got the part.
- Michael Cera was considered for the role of Jacob, but the actor declined to participate in the project in order to voice one of the characters in the upcoming animated film "The Lego Batman Movie" (2017).
