Set in West Berlin during the 1970s, this drama follows Husseyin, a Turkish migrant working as a guest worker. His existence is defined by a repetitive cycle of commuting and operating a press machine at a factory. While he saves money with the goal of buying a home and marrying in his native country, his daily life is marked by social isolation, cultural barriers, and friction with racist colleagues. He also struggles to find meaningful romantic connections while sharing a small apartment with other immigrants.
The film was directed by Sohrab Shahid-Saless, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Helga Houzer. This production followed his 1972 film, Black and White. The cast is led by Parviz Sayyad in the role of Husseyin, appearing alongside Cihan Anasai, Muhammet Temizkan, and Hüsamettin Kaya. Produced by Otto Erich Kress through companies including New Film Group and Telefilm, Provobis Film, and Tel Film, the movie is a joint production between Germany and Iran.
Audience reception has been generally positive, with a rating of 7.2/10 on IMDb based on 319 votes. The film maintains a runtime of 91 minutes.
