Elliot Page (formerly known as Ellen Page) almost missed out on the role of the young Haley because his head had been shaved specifically for a role in another film. After the audition, he decided to grow his hair out.
Filming of the movie took 18 days.
Jeff's apartment was converted into a cafe where the opening scenes were filmed. In turn, the last scenes shot were those of Haley going to the bathroom to change into a t-shirt.
