Conquest

A young man named Ilias receives a magical bow from his father as a mark of his passage into manhood, and sets out into hostile territory to rid the land of evil. There he comes up against Ocron, a sorceress who rules an army of wolf-like beings and who wants the bow for herself. After Ilias is rescued from an ambush by Mace, a solitary and skilled warrior who prefers the company of animals to people, the two join forces against Ocron and her forces. The film is set in a magical realm of strange creatures and dangers, and combines action and fantasy with horror elements.

Conquest was released in 1983 and runs 88 minutes. It was directed by Lucio Fulci, the sixteenth of the nineteen films he directed in chronological order, arriving between The New York Ripper in 1982 and The Devil's Honey in 1986, and marks a move into sword-and-sorcery territory for a filmmaker otherwise associated with horror. The screenplay is by Gino Capone, José Antonio de la Loma and Carlos Vasallo, produced by Giovanni Di Clemente, and the film is a Spanish, Italian and Mexican co-production. Jorge Rivero plays Mace, Andrea Occhipinti plays Ilias, Sabrina Siani plays Ocron, and Conrado San Martín, Gioia Scola and Violeta Cela also appear.

The film holds a rating of 5.2 out of 10 on IMDb from around 3,200 votes and the same score on TMDB from a much smaller base of 71 votes, indicating a modest and mixed reception from audiences.
