- The director of the first film is George A. Romero, and the second is Dario Argento.
- This was actress Julie Benz's first full-length feature film role, prior to which she had only appeared in television series.
- Initially, director, screenwriter, and producer Dario Argento dreamed that this would be a joint collaborative project by four directors – himself, George A. Romero, John Carpenter, and Wes Craven. Carpenter and Craven declined to participate in the project, so Argento and Romero did the project together (each directed one story).
