Son of Paleface

Harvard graduate Peter Potter Jr. travels west to collect the inheritance left by his father, a celebrated gunfighter. The gold he expects is nowhere to be found, and his father's creditors are more interested in collecting debts than in welcoming the heir, leaving Potter to deal with the consequences of his father's reputation.

The film brings back Bob Hope and Jane Russell from The Paleface, this time as different characters: Potter and Mike Delroy, a saloon singer whose interests in him may not be straightforward. Roy Rogers appears as a federal agent, joined by his horse Trigger, alongside Bill Williams, Lloyd Corrigan and Paul E. Burns in supporting roles. Frank Tashlin, who had worked on the earlier film as a writer, directed from a screenplay he wrote with Joseph Quillan and Robert L. Welch, with Welch producing for Paramount and Hope Enterprises. It is the first film Tashlin directed among the titles listed in his filmography.

The western comedy runs 95 minutes and was released in July 1952. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.4 out of 10 from 36 votes, a modest score from a small number of viewers.
