Cut and Run

A television reporter and her cameraman travel into the South American jungle to investigate a drug operation that has been thrown into chaos by a campaign of slaughter. The reporter, Fran Hudson, wants to track down a survivor of the Jonestown massacre who is now tied to the cocaine trade, while her network's owner is searching for his missing son, whose image has surfaced among footage from the region. The deeper the pair go, the more the violence around them escalates, with a former American officer believed dead directing the killing and local tribespeople attacking the traffickers.

Cut and Run is an Italian production directed by Ruggero Deodato, whose earlier features include Last Cannibal World and Cannibal Holocaust. It was written by Cesare Frugoni and Dardano Sacchetti and produced by Alessandro Fracassi. Lisa Blount plays Fran Hudson, with Leonard Mann as her cameraman Mark Ludman. Richard Lynch appears as Colonel Brian Horne, Willie Aames as Tommy Allo, Richard Bright as Bob Allo and Michael Berryman as Quecho. The film followed Deodato's cannibal films and came before The Barbarians in his filmography.

Released in August 1985, the film runs 90 minutes and mixes adventure, horror and thriller elements. It holds a rating of 5.7 out of 10 on IMDb from 2,589 votes, and 5.3 out of 10 on TMDB from 71 votes, suggesting a modest reception among viewers.
