Someone's Watching Me!

A television director named Leigh Michaels relocates to Los Angeles for work and takes an apartment high up in a large building, where she is pursued by an unknown man who watches her from a unit across the way. He calls her, leaves gifts, and makes it clear he knows her routines, while the police dismiss her complaints. With no help from the authorities, she sets out to identify and confront the person herself.

John Carpenter wrote and directed this television thriller, made between Halloween and Elvis. It is the fourth film in his feature directing career, and the cast is led by Lauren Hutton as Leigh, with David Birney, Adrienne Barbeau, Len Lesser, Charles Cyphers and John Mahon.

The film first aired in late November 1978 and runs about an hour and a half. It carries a rating of 6.5 from roughly 6,300 votes on IMDb and 6.2 from about 165 votes on TMDB, which suggests a modest but steady viewer following over the decades.
