Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown

Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown follows the Peanuts gang, including Snoopy and Woodstock, to a summer camp in the wilderness. Charlie Brown and his friends must adjust to unfamiliar outdoor routines and endure the bullying of three older boys and Peppermint Patty, whose authority stems from a rafting victory they secured by dishonest means. The camp's tensions come to a head in a river-rafting race, in which the teams face difficult rapids, wildlife and the tricks of their rivals on the way to the finish line.

The film was released in 1977 and runs 76 minutes. It was directed by Phil Roman alongside Bill Melendez, both of whom worked repeatedly with the Peanuts characters; in Roman's directing credits the film follows A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown and Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown. Bill Melendez, who also produced with Lee Mendelson and voiced Snoopy and Woodstock, had directed Peanuts specials and features since A Charlie Brown Christmas, and the film sits between A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Happy New Year, Charlie Brown in his directing credits. Charles M. Schulz wrote the screenplay. Duncan Watson voices Charlie Brown, with Gail Davis as Sally, Melanie Kohn as Lucy, Liam Martin as Linus and Stuart Brotman as Peppermint Patty.
