Melanie Griffith turned 16 on August 9, 1973. Filming began in October 1973. Work on the film was interrupted for several months so that the actress could reach the required age (18 years old). During the break, they worked on editing, waiting to film Griffith in nude scenes and insert them into the film after the interruption. The film premiered in March 1975.
