Susan Sarandon didn't immediately agree to participate in this film. The reason was that in 2002 she had already played a grieving mother in a similar film, "Moonlight Mile." But after reading the script, and after a call from Pierce Brosnan, the actress still took part in the project.
Screenwriter and director Shana Fest wrote the scripts in three months while working as a nanny in Southern California.
