Short description
Following a fatal car accident that kills a teenager named Bennett, his parents, Allen and Grace Brewer, struggle to cope with their grief. Their lives change when Rose, Bennett's girlfriend, arrives at their home to reveal she is pregnant with his child. Lacking a support system of her own, Rose seeks help from the family, and the group must navigate their shared loss while adjusting to the news of the coming baby.
Directed by Shana Feste, this drama was the first of five films she directed, followed by Country Strong, Endless Love, Boundaries, and Run Sweetheart Run. Feste also wrote the screenplay. The movie stars Pierce Brosnan and Susan Sarandon as the grieving parents, with Carey Mulligan playing Rose and Aaron Taylor-Johnson appearing as Bennett.

- Screenwriter and director Shana Fest wrote the scripts in three months while working as a nanny in Southern California.
- Susan Sarandon didn't immediately agree to participate in this film. The reason was that in 2002 she had already played a grieving mother in a similar film, "Moonlight Mile". However, after reading the script and receiving a call from Pierce Brosnan, the actress ultimately participated in the project.
