Monsieur

A wealthy banker, devastated by the death of his wife, attempts to take his own life. However, he is stopped by a former maid who reveals that his wife had been unfaithful to him. This discovery prompts the man to fake his own death and start a new life under a different identity. He and the maid find employment as staff in the household of a rich industrialist, where the banker serves as a butler. While managing the chaotic dynamics of the family, he eventually seeks a way to reclaim his former status to provide a dowry for the maid, who has fallen in love with the employer's son.
