- Initially, Kai Ko was cast in the lead male role, and the film (with a budget of $40 million) was in post-production when Kai Ko and Jackie Chan's son, Jaycee Chan, were arrested for marijuana possession, resulting in Kai Ko being banned from working in Chinese cinema. The filmmakers had to spend an additional $12 million to reshoot almost the entire film with a different actor.
