Marnie Piper is starting a new school year, but this time she wants to bring a group of Halloweentown teenagers with her into the mortal world, enrolling them at her high school as a first step toward opening the two worlds to each other. She wagers her family's magic on the exchange succeeding. The plan draws opposition from those who want Halloweentown to stay hidden, and it also attracts the Knight of the Iron Dagger, a villain set on wiping out everything magical. Marnie, her new classmates and her family have to protect the school and both worlds.
