The Escort

Mitch, a Los Angeles journalist, is struggling both professionally and personally; he has lost his job and is known for his compulsive pursuit of casual sex. Needing a story that can revive his career, he meets Natalie, a high-class escort who is studying at Stanford. Rather than hiring her, he asks to accompany her while she works, hoping her life will provide the material he needs. The arrangement grows complicated as Mitch becomes emotionally involved with someone whose world he set out only to observe.

The film is a comedy-drama with romantic elements, directed by Will Slocombe from a screenplay by Michael Doneger and Brandon Cohen. Doneger plays Mitch, with Lyndsy Fonseca as Natalie. The cast also includes Tommy Dewey, Bruce Campbell, Rachel Resheff and Rumer Willis, among 32 credited performers. The production companies were Skyhook Productions, Cloverhill Pictures and Perspective Productions, and the film runs 88 minutes.

Released in November 2015, The Escort has drawn modest audience scores: 6 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 15,000 votes, and 6 out of 10 on TMDB from about 460 votes. Those figures point to a small but reasonably satisfied viewership rather than a broadly discussed release.
