Steele Justice is a 1987 American action film about John Steele, a Vietnam veteran whose life has drifted since the war. His closest friend is Lee Van Minh, a Vietnamese refugee, and when a Vietnamese former general turned wealthy businessman has Lee and most of his family killed, Steele takes in Lee's surviving daughter and sets out to settle the score. The general, Bon Soong Kwan, now heads a drug operation, and Steele's pursuit puts him in direct conflict with the man he once knew in Vietnam.
The film was directed and written by Robert Boris, the first of the four features he directed. Martin Kove plays Steele, with Sela Ward as Tracy, Ronny Cox as Bennett, Bernie Casey as Reese, Joseph Campanella as Harry and Soon-Tek Oh as General Kwan, among a credited cast of twenty-one. It runs 95 minutes and was produced by Atlantic Entertainment Group with John Strong as producer.
Released in May 1987, the film performed modestly at the box office, taking in about 1 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.9 out of 10 from 902 votes, and on TMDB a rating of 4.7 out of 10 from 28 votes, placing it among the lower-regarded action releases of its era.
