Set in occupied Europe, this film follows SS forces attempting to force captured partisans to reveal the location of their comrades. In a remote village, a biologist named Dr. Ellen Kratsch conducts sadistic experiments to create a biological weapon. She produces a hybrid creature, part human and part beast, which she uses to torture and assault imprisoned women. As Allied forces close in on the village, the doctor eventually falls victim to the creature she created.
Directed and written by Luigi Batzella, the film was released in 1977 and is the second of two films he directed, following Secret Confessions in a Cloistered Convent from 1972. The cast features Macha Magall as Dr. Ellen Kratsch and Salvatore Baccaro as the creature, alongside Gino Turini, Edilio Kim, Xiro Papas, and Brigitte Skay. Produced by Eterna Film and Sonora Films in Italy, the movie runs for 86 minutes and blends elements of the horror, thriller, and war genres.
Audience reception is low, reflected by a rating of 3.7/10 on IMDb based on 2,100 votes. On TMDB, the film holds a slightly higher score of 5.1/10 from 89 votes.
