Ranma 1/2 the Movie: Big Trouble in Nekonron, China

A dispute over an ancient scroll leads to chaos at the Tendo dojo when Lychee arrives with her elephant in search of Happosai. During the confusion, Akane ends up with the scroll, which according to legend marks her as the intended bride of Prince Kirin. The prince and his warriors kidnap Akane and take her to China to ensure the marriage takes place. Ranma and his companions must travel across the ocean to rescue her, facing the prince's guards and fighting to prevent the forced wedding.

Directed by Shuuji Iuchi, this 1991 animated action-comedy is the third film in the director's chronological filmography, following Galaxy Express 999: Can You Live Like a Warrior!! and Love Position: The Legend of Halley. The screenplay was written by Ryota Yamaguchi, Rumiko Takahashi, and Iuchi. The voice cast features Kappei Yamaguchi and Megumi Hayashibara as Ranma, Noriko Hidaka as Akane, Kaneto Shiozawa as Prince Kirin, and Sakiko Tamagawa as Lychee.
