Duck Duck Goose

Duck Duck Goose is an animated family adventure from China. Its central character is Peng, a goose who would rather show off with risky flying tricks than take part in his flock's migration. When an injury leaves him unable to fly, he is stranded just as the other geese head south for the winter. Two young ducklings, Chi and Chao, have also been left behind, and the three of them set off together on foot across mountains, lakes and bamboo forests, facing the dangers of the wild along the way. Peng takes the ducklings under his care only reluctantly at first, and the long journey gradually turns him into a protector rather than a lone show-off. The film is directed by Christopher Jenkins, who shares writing credits with Tegan West and Scott Atkinson, and it was produced through Wanda Pictures, Wanda Media, Original Force Animation and GFM Animation.

The voice cast is led by Jim Gaffigan as Peng, with Zendaya as Chi, Lance Lim as Chao, Greg Proops as Banzou, Natasha Leggero as Jinjing and Stephen Fry as Frazier. Duck Duck Goose was Jenkins's first directorial feature, released in 2018 and followed by 10 Lives in 2024 and Sneaks in 2025. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.7 from just under four thousand votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.2 from a much smaller group of voters. Both figures suggest a modest, mixed reception for a film running just over an hour and a half.
