Peter Rabbit

Peter Rabbit is a mischievous rabbit who lives with his family and friends near a vegetable garden belonging to the McGregor family. When the elderly Mr. McGregor dies, his nephew Thomas takes over the property, and the animals' raids on the garden become a full-scale conflict. Thomas also becomes a rival for the attention of Bea, a kind-hearted animal lover who lives nearby. The struggle over the garden and Bea's affection carries the characters out of the English Lake District and into London.

The film was directed by Will Gluck, who also wrote the screenplay with Rob Lieber and produced it with Zareh Nalbandian. It is his fifth feature, following Fired Up!, Easy A, Friends with Benefits and Annie, and it precedes Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway. James Corden voices Peter, with Rose Byrne as Bea, Domhnall Gleeson as Thomas McGregor, Margot Robbie as Flopsy and the narrator, Elizabeth Debicki as Mopsy and Daisy Ridley as Cottontail. The production involved 41 credited cast members and 133 credited crew.

Released in February 2018, the film had a budget of 50 million US dollars and earned about 351 million dollars worldwide, a strong return for an animated family adventure. On IMDb it holds 6.6 out of 10 from 53,000 votes, while TMDB users give it 6.7 out of 10 from 1,981 votes. A critics' rating of 5.7 out of 10 from 149 reviews places it somewhat below the audience scores.
