North Sea Hijack

North Sea Hijack follows Rufus Excalibur ffolkes, a wealthy and eccentric Scottish anti-terrorism consultant who has trained a private unit of underwater commandos. When terrorists led by Lou Kramer seize control of two North Sea oil rigs and hold the crew hostage, threatening to destroy the platforms unless their demands are met, the British government turns to ffolkes and his team. The film was released in 1980 under the original title ffolkes.

Andrew V. McLaglen directed, working from a screenplay by Jack Davies. It was the fifteenth of the sixteen films McLaglen directed, coming between The Sea Wolves and Sahara. Roger Moore, then known for his work as James Bond, plays ffolkes, with Anthony Perkins as Kramer, James Mason as Admiral Brindsen, David Hedison as Robert King, Michael Parks as Harold Shulman and Jack Watson as Captain Olafson among a credited cast of 31. Elliott Kastner produced for Universal Pictures and Cinema Seven Productions.

The film is a British-Irish action, adventure and thriller production running 100 minutes. It took about 3 million dollars at the worldwide box office.
