What's left behind the scenes
- The creators of this film were inspired by "Alien" (1979).
- Initially, Ryan Reynolds was planned to play the main character, but his filming schedule for Patrick Hughes' action film "The Hitman's Bodyguard" (2017) prevented it, so Reynolds took on a supporting role.
- Initially, Rebecca Ferguson refused to play Dr. Miranda North, fearing she wouldn't be able to handle filming on such a project, but director Daniel Espinosa convinced her otherwise.
- The scenes in which Olga Dakhovichna's character's spacesuit fills with water were inspired by a real incident on the ISS during Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano's spacewalk on July 16, 2013. The leak was not as severe as shown in the film, but water did enter his helmet, causing vision and breathing difficulties and temporarily cutting off communication.
- At the 83rd minute of the film, it is visible that Miranda North's name is written as M. Sever in Russian on her spacesuit. While this is a correct translation, the surnames of real people should be written in transliteration.
