- Before the end credits begin, a dedication appears on the screen. The director dedicated this film to the memory of his father, David Robert Jones, better known as David Bowie (1947-2016), and his beloved nanny, Marion Skinn.
- Initially, it was planned to make a gangster film set in modern Britain. Then it was decided to move the action to Tokyo and cast Ken Watanabe in the lead role.
