Massacre Time

In 1866, Tom Corbett, a gold prospector, is called back to his Texas hometown by a message from an old family friend. He arrives to find the town firmly in the grip of the ruthless rancher Jason Scott and his sadistic son Junior, whose gang terrorizes anyone who dares to object to the family's dealings. Tom's brother Jeff, once a proud man, has become a heavy drinker cared for by the family's longtime maid, Mercedes, and the Corbett ranch now belongs to the Scotts. Tom tries to rouse Jeff from his apathy and persuade him to stand up against the men who took everything from them, setting up a confrontation the town has long feared.

Massacre Time is an Italian western directed by Lucio Fulci, the third of the nineteen films he directed, following The Masseuses and preceding One on Top of the Other. It was written by Fernando Di Leo and produced by Oreste Coltellacci. Franco Nero plays Tom, with George Hilton as his brother Jeffrey, Giuseppe Addobbati as the older Scott, and Nino Castelnuovo as Junior. The film runs 92 minutes.

Audience response has been moderate though favorable: on IMDb it holds a rating of 6.5 from around 2,700 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.4 from roughly 78 votes, a small sample that partly reflects the film's status as a lesser-seen entry in the genre.
