Short description
Sarah Winchester, heiress to the Winchester firearms fortune, lives alone in a sprawling, perpetually under-construction mansion near San Francisco. Convinced that the spirits of those killed by her family's rifles haunt her, she keeps builders working day and night, adding rooms, stairways and doors that lead nowhere, turning the house into an elaborate maze meant to hold the dead at bay. When the skeptical psychiatrist Eric Price is sent to the estate to assess her mental state, he begins to suspect that her obsession may not be delusion at all.
Helen Mirren plays Sarah Winchester, with Jason Clarke as Dr. Price and Sarah Snook as Marian Marriott. Michael and Peter Spierig directed from a screenplay they wrote with Tom Vaughan. The film follows Jigsaw in the directing pair's filmography and was released in early 2018, running 100 minutes.
