Terrifier

On Halloween night in Miles County, two friends, Tara and Dawn, leave a party and stop at a pizzeria, where they encounter a silent clown in black and white who carries a large trash bag. Their paths cross with Art the Clown again later that night, and the evening turns into a spree of violence as he pursues them, their friend Victoria and anyone else in his way. The film is a low-budget slasher built around a mute killer and practical gore.

Damien Leone wrote, directed and produced the film, the third feature in his filmography and a return to the character after his earlier Terrifier short and All Hallows' Eve. David Howard Thornton plays Art the Clown, with Jenna Kanell as Tara, Samantha Scaffidi as Victoria and Catherine Corcoran as Dawn among a credited cast of thirty-four. Released in 2018 and running eighty-four minutes, it launched a series that Leone continued with Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3.

On IMDb the film holds 5.5 out of 10 from about 94,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.3 out of 10 from roughly three thousand votes. A critics' rating of 6 out of 10 across twenty-seven reviews places it close to the audience scores, suggesting a modest but similar level of approval from both groups.
