Sahara

Set in the Sahara desert, this animated adventure follows a cobra named Ajar and his friend Pitt, a scorpion. Ajar falls in love with Eva, a snake who lives in a prosperous oasis where the animals enjoy an abundance of food and water, unlike the struggling snakes of the open desert. When Eva is captured by a snake charmer, Ajar and Pitt travel across the harsh landscape to rescue her.

This French and Canadian co-production was directed by Pierre Coré, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Stéphane Kazandjian and Nessim Debbiche. The film features the voices of Omar Sy, Louane, Franck Gastambide, Vincent Lacoste, Ramzy Bedia, and Clovis Cornillac.

Released in 2017, the film earned 8 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception is mixed, with a rating of 5.5/10 on IMDb based on 3,400 votes and a slightly higher score of 6/10 on TMDB from 297 votes.
