Ben

A lonely boy named Danny forms a close bond with a rat named Ben. While the two develop a friendship, Ben is also the leader of an organized army of killer rats that terrorize the city. As the rodents leave a trail of victims and destruction, the police struggle to stop the coordinated attacks, and Danny attempts to protect the animals.

Directed by Phil Karlson, the film was released in 1972. It follows his work on The Wrecking Crew and precedes his direction of Walking Tall. The screenplay was written by Gilbert Ralston and produced by Mort Briskin for Bing Crosby Productions. The cast features Lee Montgomery as Danny, alongside Joseph Campanella, Arthur O'Connell, Rosemary Murphy, Meredith Baxter, and Kaz Garas.
