The Domestics

The Domestics is set in a post-apocalyptic American Midwest where organized gangs have taken control of the roads and settlements. Nina and Mark West, a married couple, are trying to reach a place of safety, but the territory between them and their destination is divided among violent factions that prey on travelers. Their journey becomes a struggle to stay together and survive against groups that have turned the collapse of society into an excuse for brutality.

Kate Bosworth and Tyler Hoechlin play the couple, with Sonoya Mizuno, Lance Reddick, Kaden Washington Lewis and Jacinte Blankenship in supporting roles. Mike P. Nelson wrote and directed the film, which was produced by Gianni Nunnari and Shannon Gaulding and released in June 2018. It was Nelson's first feature as director, followed by Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85, Silent Night, Deadly Night and Sweet Revenge, with Beware Boiúna arriving in 2026.

The film runs 95 minutes and is classified as horror and thriller. On TMDB it holds a 6.2 rating from 538 votes, a moderate score that suggests a mixed but engaged response from viewers rather than broad acclaim.
