Triple Cross

Triple Cross is a 1966 war adventure film about Eddie Chapman, a safecracker serving time on the island of Jersey when German forces occupy the island during the Second World War. Seeing a way out, Chapman offers his services to German intelligence and is trained as a spy, then sent to Britain on a mission. Once home, he approaches British intelligence with a proposal of his own: he will work for them as a double agent in return for a pardon. The story follows his efforts to serve both sides while keeping his own freedom.

Terence Young directed, working from a screenplay by René Hardy. The film sits between Thunderball and Wait Until Dark in a run that also includes Dr. No and From Russia with Love. Christopher Plummer plays Chapman, with Yul Brynner as Baron von Grunen, Romy Schneider as Helga Lindstrom, Gert Fröbe as Colonel Steinhager and Trevor Howard as Freddie Young. Claudine Auger appears as Paulette.

Made as a British-French co-production, the film runs 140 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.3 from around 3,600 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.1 from roughly 86 votes.
