The Turtle King

This animated film follows a vain ruler of a turtle community who thrives on the flattery of his subjects. Driven by a desire to see further and look down upon others, the king commands his people to stack themselves one on top of another. This creates an unstable tower designed to lift the monarch high above his surroundings.

Produced by Kyivnaukfilm in the Soviet Union, the short film was released on February 5, 1988. It was directed by Tsezar Orshanskyi, who previously directed And You, Friends, Wherever You Sit… in 1972 and Golden Hue in 1980. The production has a runtime of ten minutes.
