Piercing

Reed appears to be an ordinary family man, with a wife and a baby son, and he leaves them behind for what looks like a routine business trip. In reality, he has packed no clothes, only the equipment he needs to carry out something he has long wanted to do: kill a stranger. He checks into a hotel and arranges for a call girl to visit his room, intending to commit what he believes will be a perfect murder. The woman who arrives, Jackie, proves to be unpredictable and volatile, and Reed's careful plan quickly slips beyond his control.

Nicolas Pesce wrote and directed the film, which followed his 2016 debut The Eyes of My Mother in his filmography. Christopher Abbott plays Reed and Mia Wasikowska plays Jackie, with supporting roles for Laia Costa, Maria Dizzia, Marin Ireland and Wendell Pierce.

The film runs 82 minutes and was released in January 2019. It is a co-production between the United States and France, made by Memento Films International, YL Pictures, Paradise City and Borderline Presents. On TMDB it holds a rating of 5.7 out of 10 from 261 votes, suggesting a modest response from viewers.
