Maurice may look like a penguin - but he's a real tiger inside! Raised by a tigress, he's the clumsiest kung-fu master ever. Along with his friends, The Jungle Bunch, he intends to maintain order and justice in the jungle, as his mother did before he. But Igor, an evil koala, wants to destroy the jungle once and for all—helped by his army of silly baboons.
What's left behind the scenes
- The animated film is based on an animated series known in Russia as "Jungle Squad to the Rescue".
- It took two years to create the full-length animated film.
- At the very beginning of working on the project, the team of main characters had a different composition, and there were even different locations for the story to unfold. For example, in the very first version, Maurice was a zebra penguin living in the savannah. In the end, Maurice became what viewers will see – a tiger penguin who cares for his tiger fish friend.
- Specifically for the flight scene to Igor the koala’s lair, the authors built kilometers of flexible sets, as the characters were supposed to move along them at speeds of 50 to 200 km/h.
